Engineering & Design

Engineering and design are done by use of 3D and 2D drawing tools together with necessary mechanical and structural calculations.

To develop a good and robust design, it is important to join technical and practical experience together with the understanding of production and assembling methods.

For systems and products to be used in remote locations, like subsea, it’s important to consider robustness, simplicity and repairability in the design.

Hydraulics

To design a robust hydraulic system, it’s necessary to select and size the components, determine the system pressure/flow and find the correct components to meet the operational requirements. In harsch environments, additional factors to consider is external pressure, corrosion, accessibility etc.

Fabrication and testing

Nexum is working together with many long-term sub-suppliers in allocating raw materials, fabricating parts etc. The products are mainly assembled and tested at Nexum premises workshop. Nexum have a versatile workshop with warehouse, tools, overhead crane, HPU etc. for a variety of assembly and test jobs.

Materials

The correct materials must be choosen to support the operational requirements like strength, corrosion, design life, pressure etc. Nexum has experience with a varity of materials, shapes and fabrication methodes and can, if preferred, handle this including the material supply.

Project and Support

Nexum have simple project follow up and support for all running projects and products. Nexum can also offer extended project support including reporting, detail project planning, document transmittal control etc if required.

Nexum have after sales support and can offer service, modifications or repair for all delivered products and systems.

Documentation

Nexum can supply documentation packages to support the delivered design and products. Documentation packages can consist of a simple user manual to a more complex package including design/calculation reports, operation manuals, test reports etc.
